From XPOSE #14 (August 1997) The Sex Files -- Alex Krycek Played by Nicholas Lea This renegade FBI agent was attached to Mulder after the X-Files were temporarily closed down and our two heroes reassigned. Alex Krycek first came to our attention in the season two story, "Sleepless," where initially at least he appeared as an eager new agent, still wet behind the ears. He certainly seemed open to the extreme possibilities that he encountered with Mulder as they tracked down Augustus Cole, the war veteran with a terrible secret. However, Cole was not the only one who was not all that he seemed. At the end of the episode we learn that the young agent's eagerness to please was a front as he was in the pay of the Cigarette Smoking Man all the time. Hot Points Alex Krycek is certainly one of the most handsome men to have appeared on the show. In his first story, his inexperience and enthusiasm are as appealing as his clean cut looks and stunning green eyes. But he is no pushover, when Mulder tries to take the case from him, Krycek fights his ground. Krycek is fast becoming the world's most lovable rogue. Despite all the terrible things he does, you can't help feeling a bit of sympathy for him. Dating Drawbacks But let's not mince words: This boy has problems with commitment and loyalty. Not least that he is entirely amoral and would shoot your grandmother if there was the least advantage in it for him. You could never trust a word he says and actually going out on a date would be difficult as he is constantly hunted by the agents of several governments. The Last Word However, despite all these shortcomings, he has a devilish charm and smile that could make you question whether you really loved your grandma anyway. And check him out in "Piper Maru" and "Apocrypha" when his silky black hair is a little longer and he's wearing that battered leather jacket. Hot.
